Music Class w/ Cousin Lukas

Yesterday Jordan and I went with my brother, Eric, and my nephew, Lukas, to music class. It was "Bring a Friend to Music Class Day," aka...they are trying to get more people to enroll. In the summer of 2014, I babysat Lukas and took him to his music class several times. I really like it, but I'm not sure if $10 a week is worth it. Jordan really seemed to like it though. I'm actually going to go to the local music store this week and pick up some of the instruments that he enjoyed playing for Christmas. Here are some pictures and videos from music class.

Once an Infertile, Always an Infertile

For many years I related to many women out there. I was happily married for years. I was of age to have children. I was unable to.

Christmastime is such a hard time for infertiles. Christmas is a magical time of the year, but it is more for children than anyone. They are believe in Santa, elves, and reindeer. I used to see childrens pictures on Facebook and remember a time when I believed in those things too and Christmas was such a magical time of year. It made me sad as I got older. Thinking that I may never be able to see the sparkle in my own childrens eyes. Chrismas was hard. Very hard. Ask any infertile. You don't really think about it until you've been in their shoes. I will admit it, I am so excited for this year. It is my son's first Christmas. We have started those traditions that I longed for and pinned on Pinterest. However, in the back of my mind I feel guilty for posting all of the pictures that are Christmas related on Facebook. I don't want to feel bad, but I cannot help it. I have infertile friends still hoping and praying for their miracles. There is a post going around on Facebook that I refuse to share. I refuse to share it because I don't want to cause anymore sadness to my friends. The post is innocent, but it stings when you do not have kids of your own.

Not many people think twice. Do me a favor though. If you see this post on Facebook, please refrain from sharing it. 1 in 8 couples suffer from infertility. Chances are some of your friends are wishing for their miracle this Christmas.

The Cutest Christmas Elf

Early last month, Jordan came home from his grandpa's (the one who babysits him) and he was wearing the most adorable costume. He was the cutest little elf ever. My FIL's girlfriend and daughter had picked it up for him. Right then and there I knew that I had to get professional pictures done of him.
On Veteran's day I took Jordan to get his Christmas pictures done. It was a miracle that they turned out so well. He had been up for about 5 hours (he usually naps every 3ish hours). I had hoped that he would fall asleep on the 30 minute car ride there. He did, but not until we were about 5 minutes from her house. Of course I had to wake him for pictures, which was fine, but he must've been tired because he fell off of the the platform that he sits on for pictures and pretty much fell on his head. He cried for a minute or two while I hugged and kissed him. I felt so bad. I should've stayed next to him after I sat him down, but I went to go stand behind our photographer to try to get his attention. Lesson learned. #momfail

Anyways, here are the pictures from his photo shoot. Some of them he is pretty serious looking, but she got some good smiles as well! :)

My favorites are the ones of him in the box. <3

They are MUCH cuter pictures than this one of him from last year. ;)

We are so excited to celebrate his first Christmas. I am even more excited to be on Christmas break with him for two weeks. Only 10 more days left of school!

Planning New Traditions

I have had an elf on the shelf for years now and I am so excited to actually use him this year. He even has a name. I researched when to start the Elf on the Shelf and found out that we should start when advent begins (which is tomorrow). Along with Elf on the Shelf, we are going to read a Winter/Holiday/Christmas book to Jordan every night. I made a calendar to plan everything out. I've got the books down, now we just need to get ideas for our Elf on the Shelf, Jingles.

I wanted to put the link to the calendar on here, but I cannot figure it out. If you are interested, either email me ( or comment with your email and I'll send it to you.

Gotta go get Jingles set up. He makes his appearance to Jordan in the morning! :)

A Difficult Decision

If you read one of my last posts, you would know that Mike and I are currently working on our finances so that we can hopefully buy my MIL's beautiful house in the next year or two. With that being said, we are trying to cut out unnecessary costs. Right now we are getting charged $42 every month to store our 3 frozen embryos. Mike wants to be done having kids. I want one more. I've always wanted two children. A part of me thinks I would be okay with just one, but then again I thought that I would be okay without any and now I am the happiest mama in the world. If we did decide that we are done, I don't feel right destroying our potential children and I don't want to donate them because I can't bare the thought of someone else raising our child(ren). Don't get me wrong, I think it is amazing when parents can do that for other couples, I just personally would have a hard time with it. Even if we did decide to transfer the embryos into my uterus, I have a fear that all 3 would result in triplets. I can't handle that. LOL.

I want to know why we (infertiles) go through so much to have children and then get faced with such difficult decisions. It's just not fair. I know that whatever our decision is, we will have a great life whether it is the three of us or one, two, or three more. ;) We have the happiest little boy who fills our lives with joy. We are truly blessed.
