Week 12 Bumpdate

Bump Update

How far along? 12 weeks

Total weight gain: -3.6 pounds (since our transfer day)

Maternity clothes: I’m can still wear my regular clothes, but I do have several maternity tops to start me off.

Stretch marks: Unfortunately they have been there since I was younger seeing as though I have struggled with my weight all of my life.

Sleep: I have been sleeping perfectly fine. Sometimes it feels weird to sleep on my stomach, but then I think that maybe it’s just all in my head.

Best moment this week: Nothing baby related happened this week and work has been a little rough. I would say that Friday at 4:00pm was the best moment, because it started the weekend! ;)

Miss anything? Drinking wine or having margaritas (non-virgin) when we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Food cravings: Anything unhealthy, but when it comes time to actually eat, I don’t feel like eating anything.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I usually feel queasy after I eat.

Gender: Won’t know for about another 8 weeks!

Symptoms: I’m starting to have to pee a lot. Acne comes and goes. I am still nauseous, but it seems to be only when I eat now. My chest is getting bigger (I had to order bigger sports bras). I am extremely exhausted all of the time.

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or moody most of the time: When I am at work I am moody (mainly because my kids have been a lot to handle lately). When I am home, I am happy.

Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound on October 22nd.

10 Weeks 4 Days: Initial OBGYN Visit

Yesterday was my initial appointment with my OBGYN. I started seeing her in August of 2012 about our fertility issues. She had us do some tests and then she referred us to Chicago-IVF. When I got released from the clinic on the 5th, I had made an appointment with this OBGYN (Dr. Yala) because I really liked her when I saw her 2 years ago.

It was a wonderful day. I took the whole day off of work. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and I wasn't sure if I would make it to work by noon. I only work about 5 minutes away, but with it being the first time that I was going there in 2 years, I wasn't sure how things were going to go. Well, the Dr. had two deliveries that morning, so she was running a little late. I got there at 10:15 for a 10:30 appointment. I filled out some paperwork and sat back down for awhile. They called me back a few minutes later to get my blood pressure and weight. I then went back out into the waiting room to wait for a room to open. At 11:20 my mother arrived (she had a doctor's appointment nearby at 9:45 and luckily made it in time to see her grandbaby).  I got called back at about 11:25. I had to get fully undressed because the doctor had to do a breast exam and a pap smear on me...and we listened to the baby's heart beat, which was at 171bpm. After that I got to put back on on my bra and top and the nurses wheeled in the ultrasound machine and set it up. The doctor came back in and it was finally time to see the baby!

The machine shows a closer up picture of the baby than the one at the fertility clinic did. The last appointment at the clinic was more zoomed it, but this time (and it is also 2 weeks later) we could see the little arms and legs and they were wiggling around. I wasn't sure if I could use my phone to record it since the sign on the wall said that cellphone use is prohibited, but when I said that I wish that Mike could see it, she said that I could record it with my phone. When I was waking up my phone and getting to the camera, the baby stopped moving. Darn it, baby! It was the coolest thing that I have ever seen. Anyways, I got some awesome ultrasound pics though...

I didn't get out of there until about 12:05, so I'm glad that I just got a substitute teacher for the whole day. After the appointment my mom met me at my house where I dropped off my car and then we went to lunch at Panera Bread. After lunch we went to Kohl's (where my mom bought me some maternity tops and I bought myself some adorable owl fall pajamas), Target (where I wanted to buy big ticket baby items, but instead had to buy Monistat for my yeast infection...thanks for that, Crinone), and Hobby Lobby (where I purchased outside fall decorations). It was a wonderful afternoon, but I spent too much money.

I still can't believe that I am growing a baby inside of me. It is super cool, but also super weird. One of these days I'll get used to it.

New Vehicle, Ultrasound, and Fall Trip

A week ago Mike and I decided to go look for a new vehicle for him since his 2005 Mercury Sable kept breaking down at stoplights and it was going to be about $2,000 to fix it. We knew that now that there is a baby on the way, we needed a bigger vehicle to fit a baby and our pups. So, we found a 2013 (leased for a year) Ford Edge SEL with 12,000 miles on it. It is fully loaded. We LOVE it. Even the dogs do. My favorite part...and the dog's favorite (as you can see below) is the massive sunroof. It's almost like being in a convertible.

I went in to the fertility clinic yesterday. We were 8 weeks 4 days yesterday and the baby was measuring at 8 weeks 5 days. This is the best picture that we have seen of the baby thus far. The ultrasound tech zoomed in quite a bit.

The heart was beating at 197bpm. I recorded it for Mike since he couldn't be there again. At the end of the video, the baby wiggled. So cute. :)

Last night I had to snap a picture of my little girl snuggling with my belly. I'm sure she has no idea yet, but it was too cute.

On another note, I am the WORST mama! I said that I wouldn't neglect my pups when we have a baby and then I was so focused on the ultrasound yesterday that I completely forgot about my baby boy's birthday! Happy 4th birthday to my little man! I love you to pieces!!! xoxo

In other news, I cannot wait until next month. In 33 days, we are going on our fall trip to northern Wisconsin. We usually go to this YMCA camp every summer, but we decided to go last fall and LOVED it. It is cheaper and we got to stay in the big cabin. We couldn't afford to go with Mike's family back in July, so we are having withdrawal from camp. In 33 days we will be getting to camp around midnight. My BFF Amy, her husband Andy, and their two adorable children (Connor and Emma) will be following us up there. That gives us all day Friday, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. Then we will be heading home sometime before noon on Monday. My mom, dad, brother (Eric), my SIL (Mindy), and my nephew (Lukas) will all be coming up sometime on Friday. My sister is due with her daughter on October 27th, so her little family won't be joining us. :( It'll be lots of fun though and VERY relaxing.
