Baby Neuby @ 7 Weeks

I went for another ultrasound yesterday morning. Baby was measuring at 7 weeks and 2 days which is exactly how far along I am according to the IVF calculator. The picture printed out dark, but that lighter spot that the arrow is pointing to is the baby.

The heartbeat was 117 bpm last week and 147 bpm this week. It sounds so cool. Nurse Sandy says that it sounds like galloping horses, which it does. I got some of it on video.

I made an appointment with the nurse practitioner at Chicago-IVF for next Friday, September 5th at 1:30pm. I will be graduating from the fertility clinic and released to go to my OBGYN. I am glad to be at this point and looking forward to a 10 minute drive instead of a 50 minute drive, but I will miss the staff at Chicago-IVF. :(

The Hearbeat - 6 Weeks

Mike and I went to the clinic on Wednesday for the 2nd ultrasound. We were 6 weeks and 2 days. That would make us 6 weeks and 4 days today. Here's Baby Neuby. I know it's hard to see in the pic, but he/she is there and doing well! :)

We couldn't see a whole lot, but who needs to see the baby when you can see the pulsating and hear the beating of the heart. It is quite possibly the most amazing sound to hear. The heartbeat was 117 bpm. They look for anything over 90 bpm.

Next week it should be even stronger. I can't wait to hear it! It sounds like we have our ultrasound next week and then I have to meet with the doctor to get released to go to my OBGYN.

I've been so crazy busy lately with work. I had the kids all week and I am really enjoying them. I also have a full time foster grandparent (volunteer) which is super great. I am lucky. ;)

I promise to catch up on blogs this weekend. Have a happy, healthy weekend, all! :)

1st Ultrasound - 5 Weeks 2 Days

It's hard to see in this scanned copy, but we have one little blessing in there. :) It is the white speck (looks like a piece of white rice) by the A & B...above "Baby Neubauer".

Next week we should be able to hear the heartbeat. :)

Beta Update

I went in for more blood work yesterday morning. My (newer) nurse asked me if I had any spotting, bleeding, or cramping. I said "no" in a confused sounding voice. The other nurse said, "She's already pregnant." Then my nurse goes, "Oh...I didn't know that. Oh wait. Yes I did. I forgot because I didn't get to call her. Sandy did. She got all of the glory." Then the other nurse said to me, "Are you the one she was playing phone tag with?" Yep. That was me. Ha ha.

Anywho...I thought that was cute. So last night I hadn't received a phone call and it was almost 5pm, so I called the clinic and my nurse was still there. She said that they were still making calls, but that she would give me my info while I was on the phone. My beta was up from 203.4 to 490.3. We only have 1009.7 more to go before they can do an ultrasound. I am so excited to get to find out how many embryos took. I am excited, yet very nervous. I would love twins, but I fear triplets.

Things here have been going good. I was super busy with new teacher trainings this week and with setting up my classroom. I'm feeling pretty comfortable right now. Usually I would be very nervous, but I have a friend who taught for 2 years in another district, but is going to be teaching at the same school as me this year. We also met several other girls at the trainings that are first year teachers at the school. I think there are 7-8 of us new teachers to the school this year. Also, I have had many teachers stop into my classroom and introduce themselves. Everyone is so nice. I look forward to this school year. I even got my class list, so it is starting to feel SO real. Yikes. :)

Holy Cow

The 2WW has come to an end. It has been a crazy one. I have been super busy getting ready for my first year of teaching. I've been printing, laminating, and cutting out decorations. I have also been buying out Target and the local teacher store! ;)

Everything about this cycle has been different from the last fresh cycle that I had. My body didn't take to the egg retrieval as well as it did the first time. I didn't feel good for a few days after and I got SUPER bloated. I also started itching (down there) last week. Ouch and Ew, I know. I am using Vagisil and it is feeling much better now. Then the last 3 days when I go to do the progesterone suppositories, I am VERY dry down there. Ugh. Also, my boobs stopped hurting a couple days ago and I have two lovely pimples that popped up yesterday. I thought for sure that my period was coming.

I went in for the beta this morning and then went to a training that is required for new teachers. I looked at my phone at about 2 o'clock and I had missed calls from Chicago-IVF from 1:42, 1:47, and 1:52. After playing phone tag with my nurse (well my nurse before I changed doctors), I finally got on the phone with her. She said that she told my current nurse that either she was going to call me or that they were going to flip a coin for it! LOL! I love her! Anyways.....she got to give me the news that we have been waiting SO very long to hear! WE ARE PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! My beta needed to be at least 50 and it was at 203! I asked her if that means that we could have multiples and she said that that could be why it's so high. So now we wait until the number gets to 1500 before they do an ultrasound. I have to go in on Friday and then again on Monday morning for more blood work.

Mike picked up a HPT on his way home from work just so we can see a positive pregnancy test for the first time EVER! :) The test says that we are 2-3 weeks and the IVF calculator says that we are 4 weeks and 2 days along! We are thinking that the IVF calculator is more accurate! We are overwhelmed with the GREAT news that we have received in the last 6 days and still a bit in shock!

BIG News Revealed

Sorry to keep you waiting, but it's been a pretty crazy weekend. start off with, I'm going to tell you what I couldn't tell you in my last post.

A little less than two weeks ago I had an interview for a 5th grade teaching position with a principal in the district that I'm an aide in. The job hadn't even posted yet, but my name was given to this principal by the Superintendent of Personnel whom I had emailed about how to get an interview in the district about a month (give or take) before. The interview went really well. I was the only one that she interviewed. The two other principals that I had worked for must've really sold her on me. Leaving there, it seemed like she really wanted me. I was 99% sure that I had the job. That was on Wednesday. On Friday, she called me to tell me that she called my references and that she was going to be submitting my name to Human Resources on Monday (last Monday). On Friday I had an interview with the man in HR. It went well and when we were done talking, he told me that he was going to approve me for hire. I filled out little paperwork (because I already work in the district) and I got to skip the TB test, physical, and the background check because those had already been done as well.

Today I moved into my classroom with the help of my hubby and my sister-in-law. I was there from 9:40am-4:25pm. They were there for most of the time that I was. We got a lot done, but there is still so much to organize and I have to decorate the bulletin boards and walls. This is my room so far:

I have trainings pretty much all week (minus Thursday). I will be using Thursday to organize and put up my bulletin board decorations. I have another training next Monday and then I have Tuesday and Wednesday to play in my room. Thursday and Friday will be institute days. School starts on Monday, August 18th. I'm still in shock that I got a teaching job and I'm going to rock it! ;)

In infertility news, I have been so good and not done a HPT! Wednesday is the pregnancy test at the clinic! I can't believe it is almost here. Planning for my classroom has sure made time fly!!!
