Belly to Bump

Hello, blogger friends! This week has been a tough week in the weight loss department. Of course the lack of losing after working my butt off discouraged me. I think that what I was doing and what I am looking for are two different things. I want to drop weight. Like a lot of weight. I have pretty much been doing things to maintain my weight. MyFitnessPal gave me approximately 1200 calories to eat a day. If I exercise, I then got the calories that I burn added to the amount of calories that I could eat for the day. I used most of those calories. Therfore, I stopped losing weight.

I decided to do what I did in 2009. I am going to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day and work my butt off by doing some type of cardio, crunches, and strength exercises each day (maybe I'll have one rest day). I also decided to separate my blogs on infertility and weight loss. I will be taking a break from The Icing on Our Cake and posting weekly pics and updates on Belly to Bump. Please, please, please follow my new blog! I could use the motivation from you guys! You guys are the best! :)

There are no posts yet, but I will be posting my first one on there later today.

New Healthier Lifestyle Items

I decided not to do weekly posts for my weight loss. I may post about how it is going, but I won't give updates on how much I've lost weekly. I think I'll do that monthly. This week was rough. After losing over 7 pounds the first week (mainly water weight), I was stuck the entire week at the same weight as I was when I weighed in on Monday. I counted calories and I worked out every day. I even ended up "upping" my game and added more time to my work out and started running some of it. I was still stuck. Then, since we hadn't ordered out for 2 weeks, I told Mike that we could order pizza yesterday. We are going more for a lifestyle change than a diet, so we decided that it is alright to have good food every once in awhile. Well, I weighed myself this morning and was up 2 pounds. Boo. :/ Today we were out shopping and decided go to our favorite Mexican restaurant. Bad idea...I know, but it was yummy. I did choose chicken in my tacos instead of beef. That's a healthier choice. :)

Oh...and I had a large margarita! ;)
I wanted to share with you some new items I've purchased or received recently to help me with my new lifestyle change.

Item #1: A couple weeks ago I posted about having to replace our treadmill. Well, here is the replacement. I think it is pretty great for only being $500. My Saucony's left yellow on the walking belt. :( Stupid shoes.

Dick's Sporting Goods: Proform ZT4
Item #2: My SIL and her boyfriend got me a rocket blender for my birthday. I loved it at first. I was looking to buy my hubby one because he wants smoothies for breakfast too, and I found it online. I noticed that the rating was pretty bad, so I decided to read the reviews. They were not good. One said that the gasket came off and got shredded in the smoothie. The person ended up starting to eat it because he/she thought it was chunks of fruit. Eew. My gasket came off the other day, but I caught it before it got shredded up inside my smoothie. The blender still works, but leaks a little bit. I may return it. I bought Mike one before my gasket came off. I will keep using mine until something else goes wrong with it. Kohl's has a great return policy, so if I want, I can return it and get something else. I'm not sure what we will do with Mike's. We may return his and get something better.

Kohl's: Bella Sport Rocket Blender
Item #3: Like I mentioned earlier, I started running some. All of my athletic shoes are a little tight and uncomfortable. My toe is incredibly close to the end and the width seems to be a little snug on my Saucony's that I've been using. My Nike shoes that I got last year are also really small even though they are the size that I've always worn. They felt fine when I tried them on, but my toe is also close to the end. I should have returned them, but I never did.

My hubby also needed new shoes, so we went to Shoe Carnival earlier today. He found some New Balance shoes and I finally found some Nike's that felt wonderful on my feet. My toe is not at the end, the width is perfect, and the heel doesn't slip off when I walk. They also have great support. They didn't have the black/red/blue pair in a size 9, so I got the grey/pink/blue pair. I can't wait to wear them for my walk/run tomorrow morning!

Shoe Carnival: Nike Reax Run 8
I am enjoying being healthier overall. I really do feel better. If only we could be as disciplined on the weekends as we are on the weekdays!

On This Day In 2006...

It has been eight years since I walked down the isle toward my future husband as he smiled from ear to ear. I remember how nervous he was that day. He initially wanted a Vegas wedding so it would be small. He doesn't like all of the attention on him, but he did it for me. He allowed me to have the wedding that I had dreamed of. It was the best day of my life. I looked and felt like a princess and I was about to marry my prince. I had never been happier.

Eight years later, we are still just as happy and even more in love. We may not be where we thought we would be eight years later, but we are exactly where we were meant to be. If God's plan is for us to never have children, then at least we have each other. That is all we NEED.

Happy anniversary to my love! I look forward to the rest of our lives together!

XOXO

Week 1

Weight Lost So Far: 7.6 lbs

Exercise: I walked 14 miles on the treadmill this past week.

Eating: I am counting calories and stayed under my calorie intake goal 5 out of the 7 days.

Weak Moments: I had wine and probably too many Girl Scout cookies on Friday and Saturday. Weekends are so hard.

Cravings: Pizza. We had pizza pretty much weekly for a long time. Mike tried to talk me into ordering pizza the other night, but I was strong and said NO! ;)

Next Week's Goals: Add in strength exercises and eat more fruits and veggies. My goal is to lose 5 more pounds by next Monday.

Old Before & After Pics

Like I had mentioned before, I was skinny until I was like 7 or 8 years old and then I became overweight. I was pretty much that way until I decided to do something about it when I was 21.  I lost 30 pounds on the Atkins Diet in a month and a half. I know, it was crazy quick.

"After" in 2003
Somewhere between our wedding in 2006 and 2009, I managed to gain back the weight, plus about 8 more pounds.

In August of 2009, we went swimming at our friend's house and  we took some pictures. These pictures that we took really opened up my eyes. I then lost about 35 pounds by exercising and counting my calories. I mainly kept under 1000 calories per day.

This was in August of 2009. Ewww...yuck.
This is what I saw and I knew that I had to do something about it.
In December of 2009, this is what I looked like.
Here's to the embarrassing part. Since this picture in 2009, I had gradually and then quickly gained back all the weight plus about 30 pounds. I am so disappointed in myself for letting it happen. That's what I get for eating/drinking what I want, when I want, and sitting on the couch while doing it. Boo. Dumbass. Unfortunately, this picture below is me a week ago.

I don't feel this big, but cameras don't lie.
I am happiest when I am comfortable with the way I look. I know I can lose the weight again and I look forward to the journey that lies ahead of me. I will be posting weekly updates on my weigh-in days (Mondays) starting with my first one after this post. :)

P.S. Yes, I realized that I am an airhead and put "weightloss" on the board, when it is two different words. I realized it after the picture that I took today, so I will have it fixed for week 2. ;)
