General Update

I just wanted to do a somewhat quick update, so here goes...

First of all I want to announce that I am FINALLY on winter break! 16 TOTAL days off! 1 down and 15 to go! I love working at a school! ;) These two weeks will be full of baking, running errands, paperwork, cleaning, and hopefully "to do" lists!

Baking: Today and tomorrow I will be making yummy treats for Christmas gatherings coming up on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I need to make some chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate chip cookies. My chocolate chip cookies are "to die for." My nephew, Lukas, had his first cookie baked by me last night. Alright...I can't take all of the credit. It is my sister's recipe, I just make them a little bigger and they turn out a little softer than hers.

I think Lukas approves. :)

Errands: I have a eye exam on the 30th so I can get more contacts. I also have to take my Scion tC into the dealer on the 27th to fix a manufacture defect and since it is close enough to the clinic, I have to go there to drop off some paperwork. It feels like forever since I've had to run up to the clinic!

Paperwork: I have to submit paid bills to get reimbursed through Mike's MSA (Medical Savings Account) through the union. Thank God for that account. :)

Cleaning/"To do" Lists: I plan on cleaning the entire house (maybe after the Christmas stuff is down and put away) and hopefully finishing cleaning out the spare bedrooms and painting them. One room used to be our exercise room, but since we are hoping to need a nursery this year, now it is our exercise room/computer room/craft room. The walls look bad and are just an off-white color. I am hoping to paint that room a grey color. The other room will be the baby's nursery. I want to prime the walls and paint one wall with chalkboard paint. I plan on using it as the backdrop for weekly bump pictures instead of using the chalkboard on the wall or handheld chalkboard. Painting might not happen if funds are too low since Mike has been out of work for two weeks. We'll see.

As for that diet I started earlier this month, that was a bust. I lost 7 pounds in 5 days without even exercising. Then my husband wanted some pizza that night of his surgery, so that's what we ate. Then there were leftovers the next day. It was too hard to go back on the diet because nothing that we could eat sounded good to me. I wanted everything that I wasn't supposed to eat. Ugh. Needless to say, I gained back those 7 pounds, I'm sure. I won't even step on the scale. I need to just count calories and exercise. Enough of these fad diets. :/

As for our upcoming FET...I am SO very excited about it! I will be PUPO again in about a month. It's not coming fast enough. I am still waiting on my timeline from my nurse, which I hope to have soon. She was waiting on me to get her my new insurance information. I am getting my own insurance through my job now, which according to a teacher in our district who just had a baby through IVF, it covers 100%. I'm not sure if that is an exaggeration or not. I won't know until my nurse, Sandy, looks into it and gets back to me. Anyways, I don't have the card in hand, but I went online and saved and emailed the copy of the card to her. Other than waiting for the FET timeline and waiting to be told when to stop taking BCP, I have to run up to the clinic and turn in the FET consent form that I forgot to turn in. Oops.

I hope everyone enjoys / is enjoying their Christmas festivities!

I have eaten my weight in cookies lately! I also make a mean cookie. Peanut butter choco chip. And I too have 13 days off. (Ok you beat me here) but I also don't get paid for those 13 days.... :( enjoy your time & merry Christmas!

Chocolate covered pretzels! I didn't even think of these as Christmas treats ... I'm totally going to google how to do this and get them ready for my own Christmas treat bags too!

It sounds like you are going to have a very busy and fun-filled holiday season. I hope you get some down time in there too!

As a side note - I know that many of us in the IF world are superstitious and wanted to share my own nursery prep story with you ... as soon as our room was baby-ready, we got the call from our adoption agency that we had a baby on the way. I'm not even kidding! So, clean and paint away girl! Your baby is on his/her way!
