Fur Babies are Our Children Too

I posted this on The Missing Stork blog yesterday, but I wanted to post it here for those of you that don't follow that blog. :)
The holiday season seems to be quite a big deal for parents. They dress their children up in adorable yet GOOFY costumes and take lots of pictures which will one day embarrass their children….but they are just too cute of course. Some of us infertiles “Ooo” and “Ahhh” at the photos, but deep down inside we are sad. We are hurting. We are jealous. We long to make our babies look like fools.
Who says we can’t do that now? Many of us have fur babies. We can do a lot of the same things with our dogs or cats this Christmas that other people can with their human babies. See…
We can get them personalized ornaments to enjoy on our tree for years to come.
We can dress them up in their Christmas best and take them to see Santa Claus.
We can set the Elf on the Shelf up for them to find being mischievous every morning.
We can dress them up in goofy costumes and post pictures for everyone to see.
Yes! They are now officially embarrassed! ;)
We can play in the snow with them.
We can give them presents....
...and watch them tear them apart.
Shower your fur babies with gifts and lots of love. Enjoy them and enjoy Christmas.

Merry Christmas from The Neubauers!

Hi from ICLW. I love this post! We have two furbabies - a labradoodle puppy and a 2.5 year old cat. They have stockings, and they get presents, and we take pictures with them for our Christmas cards. As far as I'm concerned, they are our babies and even if/when we have human children, they will still be our first babies.

Thanks for sharing, your babies sure are cute!
