Highlight of My Week

Me with my sis and new nephew! :)
Over four years ago, my sister and brother-in-law were going to start trying for a baby. Then my brother-in-law found a lump in my sister's breast and shortly after she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy and went thru chemo treatments. She has been cancer free since! :)

They had officially been trying for a baby since late 2011. After one miscarriage in early 2012, they were pregnant again by December. On Wednesday, September 4th, my nephew, Nathaniel (Nate) Robert, was born at 7:12pm. He was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 21 inches. I was lucky enough to be invited by my sister to be in the delivery room. At first I was super nervous and uncomfortable. Nervous, you ask? She was in a lot of pain/discomfort and for a brief moment I thought "Do I really want to go through this?" I was uncomfortable because as my brother in law said it, I didn't really want to look at my sister's who-ha. I didn't know where to look. Eventually I was watching in excitement as my little nephews head was starting to pop out. It was such an amazing experience.

We went to visit Nate at home yesterday! I LOVE that little man! :)
